Eric Seaborg "Gingy"

Eric has dedicated nearly four decades to the Higher Education industry, gaining insight from both sides of the table. His initial 25+ years were spent on campus, working for various public and private institutions, including a community college. He held administrative leadership positions spanning the college community infrastructure, including serving as an Adjunct Faculty member.  For the next 15 years, Eric served as a Strategist for the Education community, working for prominent brokerage and insurance firms. This podcast is a culmination of his industry insights and knowledge, coupled with his desire to support those facing the ongoing challenges of today’s Higher Education community. To achieve this, he collaborated with esteemed educational law expert Peter Lake to facilitate an uninhibited discussion on critical topics within the Higher Education platform.

Peter Lake

Law Professor Peter Lake is the Charles A. Dana Chair and Director of the Center for Excellence in Higher Ed Law and Policy at Stetson University College of Law.  With over 30-years teaching law, he is an internationally-recognized expert on higher ed law and policy. He has appeared in hundreds of newspapers and court opinions, including the Supreme Courts of California and Massachusetts. As an award-winning academic, he has authored numerous law review articles, books, and other publications.  Peter has served as a presenter or keynote speaker at hundreds of international, national, regional, and local conferences along with providing extensive training of campus personnel on student safety, student mental health, alcohol/drug abuse, Title IX, sex discrimination, and the First Amendment to name a few. Peter serves as a Senior Higher Ed Consulting Attorney at the law firm of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.

Gary Attle

Gary Attle has worked in private legal practice in the UK for over 30 years, specializing in higher education law. He has acted in test cases involving universities and colleges in England, covering various topics and advising on legal and policy developments for universities throughout his career. In 2018, he was invited to give evidence to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights for its Inquiry into freedom of speech on campus. Having recently retired as a partner from his legal practice, he is developing a portfolio career and started in January 2025 as a Consultant to top 50 UK law firm Birketts LLP (www.birketts.co.uk) to assist in developing further their legal practice to the UK higher education sector. Gary continues to be on the Advisory Panel for the social mobility charity IntoUniversity www.intouniversity.org.uk which supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
